Major Contract From Another Government Company

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (NSE: BHEL) Share Price: The government business Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is now the winner of the largest contract awarded by another government-owned company NTPC Limited.

This information was announced to BHEL via an exchange file on November 12, 2012.

The contract will cover the development of the main system package of the plant for the 3X800MW Telangana Stage-II Supercritical Thermal Power Plant.

Despite this, BHEL share was trading down 2.57 percent to Rs 233.07 at 2 PM.

The contract encapsulates BHEL engineering, design, manufacturing, supply, construction, commissioning, as well as civil construction.

BHEL has received a limited Notice of Proceeding (LNTP) issued by NTPC to begin the fundamental engineering of the primary plant package for the Supercritical Thermal Power Plant.

Before securing this contract, BHEL had contributed to more than 57 percent of NTPC’s total thermal power projects across the nation.

BHEL announced the purchase shortly following Larsen & Toubro’s announcement that L&T Energy Carbonlite Solutions had received orders from NTPC.

The request of L&T will be for a Stage II 2×800 MW thermal Power Plant located in Madhya Pradesh and a 3×800-MW Stage II thermal Power Plant located in Bihar.
